GNS3 Talks: Docker, Open vSwitch, SDN and OpenFlow Part 7: GNS3 Switching Part 15

in a previous video I showed you how to import open V switch into genus 3 and I showed you some options such as viewing the flow table of the switch and the ports available on the open flow switch and also showed you how routers connected to the open V switch can ping each other because traffic is sent from the open flow pipeline to the traditional pipeline so let's implement policies on this open V switch switch let's say for example that we want write a 1 to be able to tell knit to write a 2 but not be able to ping write a 2 so at the moment write a 1 can ping router to you and that's based on this open flow entry what I'll do now is add a higher priority flow entry that matches ICMP traffic and I'm going to apply an instruction with no action before I add that flow to the switch notice that Rada one can ping Rada too the 5000 priority flow entry will take precedence over this 1000 priority flow entry so now router1 is not able to ping radha to let's add a flow entry with a priority of 5,000 as well but to set the protocol to TCP apply action output to normal and I'll save the flow entry so I've got a TCP flow entry and ICMP flow entry ICMP traffic is being dropped tcp is going to the normal pipeline so writer one can tell net to write a two password is required so enable password cisco line vty 0 for login password cisco Talmud back again notice Rada one is able to tell knit to rather to but is not able to ping rather to when i refresh the flow entries we can see matches on the ICMP flow entry we can also see matches on the TCP flow entry so there was a very basic demonstration of an integration between open V switch gns3 and an SDN controller in this example I'm running the HP Eve an ST and controller within a virtual box you can download the controller from the HPE website I've added links below you can download flow maker and flow make a deluxe from northbound networks I've also linked them below I hope you enjoyed this video if you did please like it and please subscribe to my youtube channel I want to wish you all the very best [Music] you [Music]
