Welcome to Runway Academy. Today we're transforming videos with a left. ALF is a powerful generalpurpose video model that can accomplish a wide variety of transformation tasks like viewpoint changes, inpainting, outpainting, relighting, reanimation, style transfer, and many, many more. To access LF, simply drag a video clip into the prompt box within a session or into chat mode. For the best results, make sure your video clip is 1280 x 720 and no more than 5 seconds long. Let's start off with something simple like a relighting task. Now we have nice warm light on the side of the man's face while everything else in the scene remains intact. Stepping up in complexity, let's ask LF for a nightto-day transformation. When prompting ALF, it's helpful to try and include as much detail as possible so the model knows exactly what you're trying to achieve. For example, if we just prompt for make it cinematic, we get a result that looks like this. It's definitely cool, but it's not specific. Changing the prompt to how we want to make it cinematic will pull your results even closer to the vision that you have in mind. So, be direct and specific about the request. You can also instruct LF to keep certain parameters the same, like camera motion or lighting, while changing the main subject action entirely. In addition to the text prompt and the video clip, you can also provide LF with image references, giving you even more control over your video transformations. You can even apply rough animations over a still image as your video input to have ALF bring it to life. With ALF, you can now focus on new camera angles, next shot generations, adding to a scene, removing from a scene, completely changing a scene entirely, or anything in between. ALF, much like references, is a general purpose model that allows for practically endless workflows and use cases. Make sure you check out the ALF help articles for additional tips and tricks or the Runway Discord to see how other community members are using ALF and other runway tools.
