Full Transcript
[Music] hey guys thanks for tuning in I'm going to be picking up off the last video in which I exhibited and explain the time tracking generic template and what I've done is I've applied this to my own business with real data based on the last tracking I've done for the past two weeks now what we're going to be seeing here is where my time syncs are and more importantly where the profit per hour is spent in each of these various projects so I'll show you how this all works let me just give you a brief rundown on how this is all laid out now at the top here this first entry this first project is digity links and this is broken up into various tasks regarding digity links you know emailing uh management HR stuff other that I can't really just find a category under or customer follow-ups and then we got lead spring stuff digity branding stuff you know the you know Facebook marketing blogging and doing recording videos like the one I'm doing right now um new projects so like Authority Builders project that you'll learn about very soon the search initiative the agency I started working with um some Mastermind stuff that I've considered doing um client SEO so interesting enough I still do have personal clients that I work with oneon-one from way back in the day day U most of the client stuff I do now is in the search initiative um scrolling down further you know JV affiliate sites I still do JVS outside of lead spring these are Legacy as well and then R&D stuff you know pbn testing ranking techniques cro testing and you know talking to other people and uh collaboration so this is all fine in Dandy um once we get all the data inputed into here I can see a clear breakdown of you know where my time is being spent per task so you know Diggity you know this is taking up about the administration stuff is taking about 5.5 hours per week you know lead Springs nearly nine hours per week the big one here is R&D um 16 and a half hours spent during R&D um is this something I want to cut out or reduce probably not um probably not at all because this effort fuels every single one of the other projects that I work on so I'm completely fine with that but the real interesting thing comes up when I start to input in the profit that each of these businesses affiliate sites and what have you generate for me per month now I'm not going to enter in real values here I've never been one of those types of guys that likes you know income reports and stuff like that more PR to you if that's your thing I just I just feel uncomfortable with it so I'm going to inut in some fictional values here and uh we'll just see how this works so let's say for example digity links is doing 20K per month let's say lead spring is doing about 50k in proportion uh The digity Branding stuff I'll be honest about this it's not making much money at all I do a couple consultations for month so that's about that um new projects so Authority Builder zero uh search initiatives put that at 5,000 masterminds at zero at this point client SEO these are real numbers so 1,000 for this dude 1,000 for this dude um and see JV affiliate stuff so these are real numbers two for these guys let's go ahead and make this fun 4,000 for this one 11,000 per month for this guy uh 1,000 about for this guy and this one's only at 500 and then R&D obviously doesn't make any money so going back up to the top what we can see here is because I know how many hours average hours I put in per week in each project I know how much they generate I can see what is my value per hour on every hour that I put into these particular businesses projects sites whatnot so Diggity links you know 827 and Lead spring obviously is a good interest or good value per time so definitely want to put more effort in there I don't know why the sink Cas is popping up please help me fix it I will buy you a beer whenever I see you thank you very much uh so d branding stuff you know this is just something I enjoy I clearly can see here that you know this is probably not the best usage of my time but if you enjoy it obviously don't cut it out of your life but interesting enough like if we get down here into this like client SEO section we look at these Legacy clients I still have that aren't part of you know search initiative that's a much more efficient and much more professional um agency service if we take a look here we got this client FTF which is you know this is your dream client right he's very low maintenance I got everything automated even the reporting is automated I spend probably about point8 hours per week uh working on this client site just everything is cruising he's at number one for everything so everything is cool um this guy generates $1,000 per month and given the number of hours I put into it is results in $1,253 per hour so obviously if I were interested in getting my own client outside of the search initiative I would definitely want to replicate this client's profile and go for the kind of sites that he has for example now this one on the other hand uh this one's been a little bit of a pain in the butt recently um the this client is to be frank it has been uploading new content that's duplicate content they're plagiarizing other sites so uh we had a little bit of a ranking decrease I've been cleaning that up lately it's been taking a bit of my time so this results in $122 per hour obviously not as lucrative as nearly any of the other projects that I'm working on so I would consider you know what can we do with this client um should we let them go should I absorb that into search initiative who can take care of this better than I can um one onone now uh on the other hand look at these JV affiliate sites so you know most of the affiliate sites I'm running through lead spring now but some of these are are ancient um but as you know most affiliate sites once are ranking are very very low maintenance to keep them up there as we can see here I mean this is the worst profit per hour oh my God worst profit per hour TBB this site right here I'm putting in about one hour per week it's making $4,000 a month but still that's great profit per hour so obviously this is even about as equivalent as one of the dream clients here the dream client ft so definitely want to keep doing JV things which is why I'm running lead spring so heavily right now um but this this side I mean this is a dream come true 09 hours per week um $11,000 per month this is essentially $227,000 per hour so these are the kind of sites niches and projects I'm looking for um just very high profit margin affiliate sites that are very low maintenance obviously this is is what I want to stay focused on now once we have a clear snapshot and we can see where all our time is being spent I can see right down here here's my average hours per week definitely I'm putting in the grind these days no shame in the game I'm happy to do it um once I figure out how many hours I work per month I obviously know how many how much money I made last month or at least I should know take the division of that so I take the the income last month divided by the average hours I worked last month and I get my average value per hour so let's say for example this was $500 per month so then I could just compare this to the individual tasks like okay Diggity branding stuff it's obviously not generating $500 per hour so let's take a look what is the biggest time SNS here that I can help shave off some time and maybe get some more time in my life well let's see 1.91 hours is spent per week doing Facebook marketing wow that's kind of surprising to me I even have Facebook blockers on my computer so this is really really surprising um although I do really like answering questions on Facebook and helping other people maybe I should need to cut down on this and set some boundaries here and also like okay so what do I do about blogging this is all obviously taking a bunch of time but you know you have to bring emotions into this is this something you really enjoy doing if it is definitely don't cut it out again with like Chang my SEO Community I I do enjoy nurturing and you know holding events here in changm so I'm not getting rid of that so let's continue down here you know $500 per hour is the marker you know like is this search initiative stuff worth it I mean for me absolutely this is a growing business we'll keep pushing forward on this but you know obviously this client right here we need to do something about this cuz it's bringing down the average okay so guys in summary um here's what you get out of this you get a snapshot you see exactly where all your time is being spent you see what are your most valuable uh projects and what your most valuable clients and you can see where to allocate your time into your various resources on top of that you know we can see what's being wasted what we can get rid of and um and yeah like I said what we can allocate more into now if this is it confusing to you at all please go ahead and leave a comment in the post below and I'll be happy to answer and also I'm very interested to hear how you guys have taken the spreadsheet maybe done further analysis and seeing how you can get other alternative benefits out of having this very very data driven analytical view quantitative look on your time spent in your business and your profit thank you very much and have a good one he [Music]
