So what are leading indicators? Well, leading indicators are indicators that will give you a heads up when you still have time to react. Lagging indicators kind of late. So let me let me give you an example. So typically a company would look at its financial statements to see how they're doing. So here's how financial statements come to be. Friday afternoon, Bob's working on manufacturing a widget. He's not feeling so great. He had an evening out last night. So Bob's widget not so good, full of problems. really defective. Bob's widget gets sent out to a warehouse where it sits for two months. Then Bob's widget gets h sent to your client. Your client gets it and doesn't unpack it for two weeks. Finally, they do unpack it and they find out it's defective. So, they tell one of their people, "You got to get in touch with company XYZ to tell them their product's defective." Two weeks later, they get in touch with you to tell your product's defective. So now weeks have gone by with Bob manufacturing crappy widgets.
