Key Takeaways

Running local AI models for everyday tasks using personal computers

Original Description

This might be an unpopular opinion, but most people don't need to use cloud AI models. Most people are using the most state-of-the-art AI models from ChatGPT or Claude to summarize documents or write emails for them, and frankly these models have gotten too smart for that. You don't need all the compute for everyday tasks. Running local models directly on your computer means you don't need the internet, your data is completely private, and you're not at the whims of the big AI labs. With amazing new local models and even better hardware, your computer can handle 90% of the simple things we ask AI to do.
