[Music] welcome to Google Cloud Mainframe modernization in this video we'll present Google Cloud Mainframe refactor for batch which allows customers to modernize Mainframe batch applications written in cobal and JCL to Google cloud and deploy them on Google kubernetes engine or Cloud run customers are seeking ways to modernize Mainframe applications to reduce costs increase agility and innovation and reduced technical debt that has been accured over decades Google Cloud Mainframe refactor allows for automated refactoring of Mainframe applications to Java ensuring that the original functionality of the Mainframe application is retained as it is modernized Mainframe refactor includes a development environment and specialized libraries enabling automated code conversion to Java and supporting the modernized application with Mainframe refactor customers can substantially reduce the risks and complexities of modernizing Mainframe applications while simultaneously accelerating modernization timelines here we can see an illustration of the app components on the Mainframe and in Google Cloud after it is modernized with Google Cloud Mainframe refactor on the left we see a Mainframe hosting a cobal application that uses db2 Q Sam and vsam files the cobal programs are invoked from JCL and the scheduler is responsible for submitting the JCL jobs and on the right we see one of the potential Target architectures for the modernized application since the refactored application is transformed into Java multiple Target architectures and deployment models are supported this includes using Cloud native solutions to replace Mainframe batch processes including using gke or using Cloud run and sub committing jobs through Pub sub Google Cloud's Monitoring Solutions enable Smart proactive monitoring and alerting of the entire execution process there's more to Google Cloud Mainframe refactor please reach out to Mainframe at google.com with any questions you have or to schedule a demo
