If students just ask AI to “fix my essay,” they’re not learning — they’re outsourcing thinking. In this short, I show you how to teach students to critique AI feedback instead of copy it using one simple prompt: 👉 “Act as a writing coach. Identify gaps in my reasoning or weak evidence. Do NOT rewrite my sentences.” Then students must: ✔ Decide which feedback matters ✔ Accept or reject suggestions ✔ Explain how revisions improve their argument That’s metacognition — and that’s where real learning happens.
