AI Doesn’t Need Better Memory. It Needs Continuity

This article argues that the core limitation of current AI agents is not memory capacity but the absence of continuity. It introduces a novel architectural layer that enables persistent identity through mechanisms like heartbeat loops, nightly reflection cycles, and narrative compression. By shifting from retrieval-based memory to narrative-based continuity, the system allows agents to evolve, carry emotional weight, and maintain a coherent sense of self across time.
